This has been a very productive week for learning some new stuff.
At the NY Javascript meet up, I learned about Functional Programming and how it could help me improve my Javascript development. Check out the tutorial.
I also spent some time learning a AngularJS with the folks at CodeCrew. While it was a very entry level tutorial I have a way better understanding of how Anuglar and MV frameworks work.
I read this article about the connections between happy, smart, and useful.
This video combined with my desire to learn more AngularJS inspired to try and come up with an idea for an app I could challenge myself to build in a day. (Soonish)
Finally the most recent episode of Nice To Meet You by Tobias van Schnieder with Brian Collins was absolutely amazing. The biggest takeaway for me was that for young creatives simple and small projects might not be what we want to be doing but they are the springboards to bigger and better projects. We all want to work for amazing companies and create the next best thing, but we all need to remember that we have to pay our dues. All good things will come with time. For me, this really turned the paradigm do what you love, love what you do on its head.
